Ilse completed her articles with KMPG and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2003. During 2005 she joined the KPMG Corporate Tax division as a Senior Tax Consultant and became an Associate Director in 2010. She obtained her Master’s degree in taxation from the University of Pretoria during 2009. Throughout her 8 years with KPMG Corporate Tax, she specialized in South African mining and mineral royalty tax and provided tax advice to a number of large listed and unlisted taxpayers in the mining, construction and pharmaceutical industries. She gained extensive experience in respect of tax planning and structuring, group restructurings, tax due diligences, review of tax returns, dispute resolution etc.

Ilse resigned from KPMG Corporate Tax in 2013 in order to pursue an opportunity at another consulting firm. By 2014 she decided to provide tax consulting services in her personal capacity. Since then, she has been providing tax advice and support to a variety of clients.

Ilse was also involved in a high-profile forensic tax investigation for the South African Revenue Service during 2014 and 2015, concerning a significant number of companies and individuals. She assisted with the quantification of the additional assessments to be raised by SARS as a result of the investigation, as well as the drafting of a detailed report to SARS setting out the findings.

Ilse joined Nubis.Tax as a consultant in the beginning of 2017 and has been working on a number of projects for Nubis clients ever since. She has subsequently, in November 2017, joined as a member of the Nubis.Tax group of tax specialists.
