Ilse Buys is a Senior Member at Nubis Tax, with more than 20 years of experience in corporate tax advisory. She qualified as a CA(SA) in 2003 and holds an MCom in Taxation. Ilse is one of a small number of South African tax practitioners with specialist expertise in mining and mineral royalty tax.

Ilse spent approximately eight years at KPMG, where she progressed from Senior Tax Consultant to Associate Director in the Corporate Tax practice, developing her specialist expertise in South African mining and mineral royalty tax. She subsequently served as Executive for Corporate Tax Services at Consilia Consult Group before establishing an independent tax advisory practice.

Ilse joined Nubis Tax in 2017, bringing her Big Four background and specialist mining tax expertise to a firm where she can work directly with clients and their internal teams.

Today, Ilse advises medium-sized to large corporate clients – including mining companies – on corporate income tax, SARS dispute resolution and objections, tax due diligence, tax opinions, and tax structuring.

Ilse holds a CA(SA) and an MCom in Taxation.
