Izél du Plessis is a co-founder of Nubis Tax and a highly experienced corporate tax specialist, with more than 30 years’ experience gained at two of the world’s leading accounting firms.

After qualifying as a CA(SA) with KPMG, she joined Arthur Andersen in 1995. She later spent 15 years at Deloitte, including five years as a partner. During her tenure, Izél led the Pretoria tax division and served as Tax Industry Leader for Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Consumer Business. She advised major multinational and listed companies as well as state-owned entities. She also regularly represented Deloitte as a tax spokesperson on radio and television.

In 2016, Izél co-founded Nubis Tax, a specialist firm built on the belief that clients navigating complex corporate tax matters should have direct access to senior, experienced practitioners.

Today, Izél is a trusted advisor to listed companies, large corporates and family owned businesses and entrepreneurial organisations across a wide range of industries, including property development, construction, automotive, manufacturing, private equity, renewable energy, and technology. She continues to represent Nubis Tax as a tax commentator in the media. Her practice focuses on assisting clients to navigate and find solutions to complex tax matters including corporate group restructurings, SARS voluntary disclosures, providing tax opinions and corporate tax compliance for large groups.

Izél holds a CA(SA) and an MCom (Tax) from the University of Pretoria.
